a day off

Because Otto didn't want to help out at his school - it'll be open day tomorrow and some of the first years were very keen to show off their new school - he had an unexpected day off today. So, did he spend it usefully, get his room tidied up, or read that book that has been waiting since Christmas? No, he chose to come with me to Ikea, to have their 1 Euro breakfast and get some 'stuff'... He always takes advantage of their 'refill your fizzy drink'-offer, by refilling it at least twice, and was looking forward to that one again. We parked the car in the multi-storey car park, wandered into the restaurant, and were shocked - the place was half the size of the place we remembered, and the things on offer were crammed into tiny fridge-things, with only the minimum of stock in it. Refitting, apparently was taking place, and nobody told us... Refilling the fizzy drink was out of the question, 'cos the fizzy-drink-machine hadn't been connected... Ant to top it all: we only got plastic plates!?

We were not amused.

But Otto managed to leave with a big smile on his face, as the Playstation was still intact, and he was able to play a few football matches. Even if it was with a five year old girl standing next to him, admiring him and telling him all about her forthcoming birthday...

Oh well. Little pleasures...
(maybe he should be a teacher, or a holiday-rep, or he could possible be a coach of some sort, if his career at Man Utd wasn't coming to fruition........)
