- a very good friday -

Spent the morning over at my friend Monique's new house.
She moved there a couple of weeks back and i haven't seen her for a while, so it was about time. We normally have a weekly chat over coffee after we finish at the art-school where we attend a class each (she does textiles, i do clay-modelling). We've known each other since baby-hood, and although we spent our childhoods in each other's company a lot, that changed when teenage arrived and our differences seemed too big - she was the rebellious, daring type, while i was a tad over-cautious and over-sensitive, and so we lost sight of each other for quite a while.

A few years back we found out that we were both on a kind of spiritual path together, and were able to help each other along in a sense, our chats became more and more intense and deep.

Another thing we have in common: we both have no idea what to become when we're grown-ups... Until i mentioned to her that friends of mine had started their own web-shop/workshop, concentrating on felting and making beautiful things with the felt, and then it hit us both - we know stuff, we can do stuff, we know plenty about spiritual growth and processes, why don't we start our own company concentrating on that - surely that could work?

And then her new house came along.

It's old, needs lots of work doing to it, but it's got a lovely garden, and it's set in great surroundings, ideal for workshops and things like that... In theory. Today i had a look at what might become the place where groovy things may happen, where we might put our knowledge into practice, and i loved it... Monique is great at seeing the good and positive in anything she comes across, although even she admitted that she'd been downhearted at the sight of all the things that need doing still... But her positive attitude - the right thing will happen, even if it doesn't look like that at all - was still there, and i remembered that things always happen for a reason. Karma, and all that...

A morning wasn't enough, though, and yet again i was late for picking up Polly... But there was a good reason - i was pencilled in to clean the classroom (as us parents do in 7 weekly turns) and me being late meant that my cleaning-colleague had chosen to make a start with the fiddly blocks and wooden figures-corner... I hate doing that... Good Friday-karma at work, then...
Unless... it might come back to haunt me...
