- turn turn turn -

As she spent most of the summer hanging off the pole where the washing line hangs from, doing frightening moves, we thought it might be nice for Polly to join a gym class. Ballet turned out not to be her thing so much (too many prima dona's...) and the boys haven't managed to change her mind to football, so when one of her classmates alerted her to the fact that gym class exists, Polly was adamant to join it. And last Wednesday was that day...

Classmate and mum escorted us to the hall where it was going to take place - down the maze that is the latest addition to the town - and after a few minutes the cacophony in the changing room made me wish that she's picked one-on-one yoga... Jeez, what a racket... I suddenly was taken back to when i was Polly's age and any social occasion like that reduced me to tears, made me want to fold myself into a little ball and disappear.. Not Polly - she confidently changed into her ballet-outfit (the only one there), watched as things unfolded and did what was asked of her. Which turned out to be very hard work, but she loved every minute of it. The ladies in charge couldn't believe that she'd never done gym before... I told them about the hanging upside down all summer, and the look in their eyes revealed glee - one that showed promise...

Wonder how long this will last - hopefully lots longer than it will take me to get over my phobia...
