complicated

in the supermarket nearest to our house, there's one check out lady that i try to avoid..
somehow she thinks i like to engage in discussions with her, about how unfair it all is in life, and how rotten Holland is becoming and more of that ilk... People in front of me join in with her and within seconds there's a  depressingly familiar scene going on...

I don't do political discussions.
Not because i'm not interested {cos i am} but because most people seem to only want their opinion confirmed and any relativism that i might throw in gets greeted with a disapproving, or mistrustful look.
So i avoid it.
And her in particular.

What can i say that hasn't been said already?
Yes, things are changing, life is different than is was ten years ago, there are more foreigners living here then there were...
but it that all bad?
is people's fear of the unknown, of change, really the only thing we should be thinking about? or encourage by confirming it, time and time again?

i don't know...
all i know is that life isn't quite as uncomplicated as when i was 16 and i had it all figured out...

some pretty music:
