autumn comes
the summer has gone
winter will come too soon
stars will shine clearer
skies seem nearer
under the harvest moon
autumn comes
but let us be glad
singing an autumn tune
hearts will be lighter
nights be brighter
under the harvest moon
The teachers at school are having a day of contemplation and song with other Steinerschool teachers, so our little ones are having a long weekend. And seen as the rain stayed away for a bit, i took the chance to convince (or bully) them to come for a walk with me. They needed little persuasion, in the end and with both on bikes, we set off to find autumn treasure.
We found loads. Leaves, berries, beech nut sleeves, pine cones... This afternoon we will stick some leaves in a press, place the berries and other bits on a tray to decorate the 'season table' and enjoy the warmth of the house...
Autumn has definitely arrived...
